Epsom Fireworks Display is run entirely by volunteers and any surplus is used to give grants to local youth charities. If you wish to apply for one of these grants for your charity, please see process and criteria below.

Applications

Applications should initially be made by emailing the trustees on Simon@epsomfireworks.com giving a brief summary of the request.

Grant criteria

Grants of normally no more than £2,000 for capital expenditure are aimed at Charitable organisations that focus on Youth in the local community of Epsom & Ewell and are run mainly by volunteers.

The organisation is likely to concentrate on

  • improving education, health and wellbeing
  • tackling inequality and the disadvantaged
  • empowering young people

Organisations we can consider

  • UK registered charity
  • Charitable Incorporated Organisation
  • exempt or excepted organisation according to the Charity Commission guidelines

Organisation location

  • In the Borough of Epsom & Ewell or within 2 miles of the borough

We are not normally able to support

  • work that has already taken place
  • one-off or annual events e.g. festivals and galas or short terms activities that only run for a few weeks
  • emergency appeals
  • monuments and public works of art
  • endowment appeals
  • campaigning and lobbying, if that is your organisation’s main activity
  • rescue and emergency organisations e.g. mountain or sea rescue and air ambulances
  • salaries for specific posts
  • new organisations that don’t have a track record of service delivery and/or have not yet submitted an annual return to the Charity Commission or produced audited or independently examined accounts
  • animal welfare charities e.g. sanctuaries or animal homes
